Belts OEM or Aftermarket

Which belt is everyone running, I've heard the OEM belt is the only one to run and last the longest. Anyone have different input, I know my cat liked dayco more than the OEM belt.

Use the 8dn used on most Yamahas, the stock 8jp is junk and twice the price of 8dn

Yep x2 on the 8dn, it's cheaper and way stronger, 8jp belt didnt like the 3 inch track with no gearing or clutch changes, 8dn has no problems or wear

Yes, I've had just as good of luck with it or better than the 8DN

The 8DN needs some spacer washers under the 3 bolts in the back of the clutch to adjust for proper belt deflection. Stingray will chime in about that.

oem 8dn, have ran them for ever on all my turbo yammys. to run them on the viper you have to add some shims (washers ) under the adjuster bolts on the secondary. julio

 

[RACINSTATION]

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but the OEM 8DN belt works just fine and is less than the aftermarket alternatives.
