Polaris Vs. Ski-Doo Vs. Arctic Cat

Published in the March 2018 Issue April 2018 Snow Tests, Feature, Arctic Cat, Column, Polaris, Ski-Doo Steve Janes

Situation 2

You have to hold a long sidehill to get past an area where you don’t want to drop down.

• Ski-Doo tends to be the easiest to hold in place and drift up and down in elevation according to where you want to set your line. The tMotion is easy to balance. You can set it into an edge and it will stay there.

• Cat is similar to the Ski-Doo in the sense that you can set an edge and initiate a roll and hold your line. Cat was greatly improved in 2018 with its narrower body design. It used to be the easiest to wash out when turning on a sidehill … but now is greatly improved. The narrower body really helps it hold the sidehill turns. Now it hooks into the sidehill and drives straight across rather than dropping the track. (You’re holding the line with the track rather than the edge of the running board.).
