longterm review fly racing f2 carbon helmet

Amsnow
The folks at FLY know how to protect your dome with style. The latest iterations look incredibly cool, and are Snell-, DOT-, ECE- and AS (Australian)-approved. It’s not the lightest (or heaviest) skull-saver, BUT it is one of few helmets we’ve worn while in a serious crash, and we trust the durability and safety of this MX-style lid.

Technology here includes woven carbon fiber and Kevlar construction. The quick-release, snap-in and snap-out, well-ventilated liner and cheek pad system is easy to clean. Custom-molded rubber trim with nose guard keeps debris away, which is great for riding off-trail or behind folks throwing massive ice chunks your way. Plus, you get reliable real metal aluminum hardware, not cheap plastic stuff!

We recommend wearing a balaclava AND a No-Fog mask as MX-style helmets tend to be less warm than full-face helmets. Cost is $319.95.
