BRP Donates Ski-Doo Snowmobiles To United Technologies Center For Student Training

News

Valcourt, QC - BRP has made a significant donation of ten Ski-Doo snowmobiles from its production testing fleet to United Technologies Center (UTC) in Bangor, ME, to help train future technicians and engineers on some of the latest technologies in powersports.

The donation continues a long standing relationship between BRP and UTC that has continued to sustain and supply future workers in the powersports field at all levels.

BRP products use cutting edge technology, like the Rotax E-Tec engines in these snowmobiles, that is constantly evolving and creates the need to for more advanced training where technicians use a computer as much mechanical tools to service products. This donation provides the platform for students to advance their knowledge much quicker and be better prepared upon graduation.

“This is an investment in the future of students that want to pursue a powersports career and BRP is pleased to be a catalyst in their development” said Philippe Normand, marketing director for Ski-Doo Snowmobiles. “These snowmobiles are state of the art which provide a great learning opportunity for students and in turn supply us and our dealers with qualified workers for many years.”

George Bergeron, Outdoor Power instructor at UTC stated, “Seeing that truck backup and open its doors was like winning the lottery for students in the Outdoor Power and Recreation (OPR). This is the single largest donation in the program’s history.”

UTC has fostered great relationships with local powersports dealers through its training programs and plans to further leverage these with the generous BRP donation.
